Welcome to the First, February, Friday Fess-Up! Mmmmm all that alliteration.
We made it!
I gotta tell you that this week was a struggle. It got *Really* freaking cold up in my neck of the woods. Yes, I know that there were colder places, but this isn’t a competition. When the cold can kill an unprotected bloke in under an hour, well, you’re just as dead as if it killed you in 10 minutes or less.
So the house got cold, the heater struggled, but we got through.
You know what else I got through? My edits!!! I sent JADE MOON WANING off to my agent, and CP on Thursday.
What did I do with myself today? I started working on the dreaded synopsis. Typically, these should be a single page, double spaced. Mine *rarely* start off that way, and this one will be no exception.
It’s something that I’ve come to accept as part of the process. Once I get the condensed version down, I can start distilling it further. Asking myself what really is the story and what can afford to go for the synopsis.
What’s happening after I get the Synopsis done? Well that depends on how much time I’ve got before my agent, and CP get back to me. Part of me wants to dig into another short story that never went anywhere, but another part remembers my goal to write one novel a year, and I’m already into February, and I want to get cracking on that.
Naturally revisions will take priority when they come, but it’s nice to be able to go off in any direction I want.
Where do I want to go?
Well, you’ll have to stay tuned for that.
For tonight, I’m thinking dinner, an adult beverage, and some Six Nations Rugby!!

What am I reading this week?
The Chronicles of the Lensmen vol. 2 by E.E. “Doc” Smith. I have this in an omnibus edition. The story that I’m currently reading in this volume is “Second Stage Lensman.”
“How to Save an Undead Life” by Hailey Edwards.
What am I listening to this week?
Drama: An Actor’s Education, By John Lithgow.
How have I been relaxing and refilling the well? The Six Nations Rugby Tournament kicks off this weekend. Both the Men’s and the Women’s Championships. If you can find them (often the Women’s matches are streamed live), I recommend watching this awesome game.
