Five Thing Thursday: July 16th

Welcome, everyone to another installment of Five Thing Thursday and…

Here are Five Things I want you to Know:

Thing #1: It was my 50th Birthday 2 days ago!!! I suppose I should think about maybe growing up…Nah…

Thing #2: Since my birthday, no less than 4 people have asked me how I feel, now that I’ve turned 50, and…I don’t know that it feels any different. Certainly no different (at least as far as I can remember, and cut it out with the old man memory jokes) than 40 did. Which, now that I think about it, is either really good for me at 50, or was pretty lousy for past me at 40. I think I’ll go with the former.

Thing #3: I haven’t geeked out about it lately, but I LOVE writing with my fountain pen. It’s a wonderful, tactile feeling.

Thing #4: This Week’s Audio Landscape has been brought to you by… Beast in Black

Thing #5: Introspection. I start looking inward at this time of year, and then half-a-year later at New Years. This time around, I wanted to focus on the things that I wanted to see more of, rather than focus on all of the stuff I didn’t like about myself and…it was kinda difficult to keep a hold of that mindset. That’s something I’m going to work on over the balance of the year.

What am  I reading this week?

Hammered by Kevin Hearne

Rogue Protocol by Martha Wells

How have I been relaxing and refilling the well?

I took the week of my Birthday off work, so there’s been a ton of relaxing – Which is good. Not as much sleep as I should be getting, but that’s my fault. Looking forward to coasting the rest of the week/weekend. I’ve been listening to more music lately, and that’s definitely a good thing.
