First Post of the Year

Before I get into today’s post, I’d like to mention that Predators in Petticoats – an anthology that features one of my stories – has been nominated for the Critters Writers Workshop Readers Poll for Best 2020 Anthology!

If you enjoyed the stories, please consider visiting the Critters Website to cast a vote our way. You can find the list of nominated works, and cast your vote Here. The voting goes on through January 14th.

Thank you very much!

On with the post!!!

This morning, I took at look at my “Last Post of the Year” post and I thought:

Dang – that would be a good “First of the Year” post

And then I thought no, that post is right where it needs to be. It’s full of hope and optimism, right there at the cusp of a new year.

Here we are after a few sleeps on January 3rd and some of that energy has been burned off. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still hopeful and optimistic about the coming year, but I’ve also channeled that initial Hell Yeah!! Lets do ALL the things!!!!!! into planning, and narrowing that All the things down into something a bit more manageable and realistic.

Now I’m not going to get into the details of how I’m going about planning, etc. (though I’d be happy to – please let me know in the comments) – we’ve all got our own tools and techniques for that.

The point is to get it fixed in your mind what it is you want to accomplish. State your intentions – give voice to what you want to accomplish and put it in the ears of the Universe. Once you’ve got that “What,” take a look at the “How” and then…go do that.

And your mileage may vary, but I don’t think this is something that you can just knock out in a morning – one where you might not have gotten as much sleep as you normally do, no less.

That’s why I’m not posting any of my intentions today. I’m still working on them. Possibly next week, I’ll have something legible I can show you.

One of those intentions, though, is to make more time to relax. Just be. And since this is the last day of vacation before returning to the day job, I’m going to do just that.

Again, I’d like to mention that Predators in Petticoats – an anthology that features one of my stories – has been nominated for the Critters Writers Workshop Readers Poll for Best 2020 Anthology!

The voting goes on through January 14th. If you enjoyed the stories, please consider visiting the Critters Website to cast a vote our way. You can find the list of nominated works, and cast your vote Here.

Thanks for reading.

Be safe out there. Be Excellent to Each other.

I’ll see you on Thursday.
