Smarter is Better than Harder

Happy Sunday Readers!

First, let me apologize for hitting you with Cliché so early in the week. Second, in this post, I am by no means disparaging hard work. Writing, indeed any creative endeavor is hard work – that’s not what I’m getting at here.

I used to tackle any job just like the word “Tackle” implies. I would just hit it and plow my way through, until the job was done.

That was back when I had time – back when I was younger, etc.

And let me tell you, that’s a hard habit to break.

That’s not to say that I don’t enjoy a good physical or intellectual challenge/workout. It’s just that I prefer to undertake those on my terms (when I can).

So I’ve started leaving reminders for myself (such as the title of this post) to take the time for planning.

So far I’ve needed the reminders more times than not, but the year is still young. We’ll see how it goes.

Thanks for reading. Be safe out there. Be Excellent to Each other – and yourself.

I’ll see you on Thursday.
