Five-Thing Thursday: November 2nd.

Welcome to another Installment of Five-Thing Thursday!

Here are Five Things that I want you to know:

Thing #1: Congrats to South Africa for winning the 2023 Rugby World Cup!! The first Men’s team in history to win 4.

Now you might be wondering why the distinction. That’s because South Africa are currently in second place for the most World Cup title wins in the history of the sport. That Number 1 spot is held by the New Zealand Women’s team. The Black Ferns have won 6.

Thing #2: The root of every bit of knowledge we possess can be traced back to 3 simple – and very important words: I Don’t Know. Don’t be afraid to admit that you don’t know something. It’s the only way we’ve learned anything.

Thing #3: I don’t know if I’m ready for snow yet.

Thing #4: What’s playing on the Mental Jukebox today: Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin, covered by Demons and Wizards

Thing #5: Be who you are. Even if you’re not sure who that is yet. Experiment. Learn. Understand that as you grow as a person, who you are may change, and that’s ok.

What am  I reading this week?

Furious Heaven by Kate Elliott

A Big Ship at the End of the Universe by Alex White

How have I been relaxing and refilling the well?

I’ve been actively trying to read more. I’ve rehabbing a foot injury for the past couple of weeks and, recently I’ve gone on a couple of “test” walks to see how I’m doing and I’m happy to say that I’m making good progress…just in time for the temperatures to plummet. But you know what, I’m (surprisingly) ok with that. I enjoy the time outside better than I do inside on a stationary bike. True, I’ve got to deal with limited daylight, but that’s what reflective fabric and lightweight light sources are for.
