Happy Friday Everyone!!! We Made it!
Yes, it’s been a long week, but not for the reasons of the previous weeks. This week is the last week of day-job for the year. And I’m trying to get through it, and, damn it, seconds just don’t pass any quicker than i second per second.
I got about 100 pages edited over the weekend. Not so much during the week. Maybe not even 100 pages over the course of those five days (including this morning), but there’s a weekend coming up and a nice long stretch of downtime, so I can really buckle down.
The plan, you ask?
Well, my plan is to get through this pass (which is purely handwritten) and another pass (which will be purely electronic) wherein I will transcribe my chicken-scratch handwriting into – yet another – copy of my master draft, which will then become my master draft.
I think, once that’s done, I’ll have reached the point where I need another set of eyes on it, so I’ll send it off to my agent and CPs.
I’d like to get that done and into the hands of folks around the turn of the year.
We’ll see how it goes.
See you on Sunday!
What am I reading this week?
The Chronicles of the Lensmen vol. 1 by E.E. “Doc” Smith. I have this in an omnibus edition. The story that I’m currently reading in this volume is “First Lensman.”
The Black Company, by Glen Cook.
Nevertheless – a Memoir, by Alec Baldwin.
I made a decision at the beginning of the year to read more stuff that I wouldn’t normally have read, and I landed in Autobiography world. Turns out that I’m intensely interested in hearing the “Origin Stories” of actors, and musicians.
Who knew?
What am I listening to this week? The Ditch Diggers Podcast.
How have I been relaxing and refilling the well? This Weekend? Sleep. Lots of Sleep. I’m hoping to pay back that deficit I’ve got built up. Also going to try and Bamboozle the wife into going to see Mortal Engines this weekend.
We’ll see how it goes.
