I’m not going to turn this into a “Year in review” post – primarily because I haven’t done the research. Maybe that’ll come next Sunday, or maybe not.
What I did want to say is coming at you in two parts.

Thank you for being a reader. Seriously. There are nearly an unlimited number of things you could be doing every week, but you stopped by to “listen” to me blather, and work out my own messes and I love each and every one of you for it. So thank you.
Part #2
Look Forward.
This past year has been a bit of a shitshow. I’m not going to get into details. Each of you have your own experiences, so you don’t need me to tell you about any of that.
What I’m encouraging you (and by “You” I also mean, “Me”) to do is Look Forward. See the possibilities that are ahead for each and every one of us. No, it won’t be easy. But I promise you that it’ll be worth the work.
Look Forward.
This is a time where we all recognize the potential for great change at the next sunrise. I submit to you that every day can be like that. I encourage you (and, again, by “You” I also mean, “Me”) to consider that every day can be a day of significant change. Again, it won’t be easy but, again, I promise you that it’ll be worth the work.
Look Forward – and Look Inward
Look Inward and find your voice. One of the greatest blessings we have been given as a species is that each and every one of our voices is unique. Think about it: Nobody can do that thing you do *Exactly* the same as you can do it. You voice is unique and, if you look, you’ll find it. Believe that.
When you find it?
I’m going to paraphrase Dave Grohl in his 2013 South by Southwest Keynote speech:
When you find it, Nurture it. Protect it. Develop it. Stretch it. Challenge it. Scream until it’s FUCKING GONE!!!
Your voice is the only thing that only *You* have and – to be honest – I need it like I need to breathe.
So join me – here at the cusp of the new year – in Looking Forward.
No, we won’t always be able to see what’s up ahead – and where be the fun in that, if we could see everything – but I promise you, how you get there is the better part.
Join me in Looking Forward. Look ahead to that thing that only *You*can do. Look forward to what you can do with Your Voice when you Nurture it. Protect it. Develop it. Stretch it. Challenge it. Scream until it’s FUCKING GONE!!!
I cannot wait to get started – I hope you feel the same.
