Welcome, everyone to another Installment of Five Thing Thursday!
Here are Five Things that I want you to know:
Thing #1: Typing has become the perfect barometer for when it’s come time to trim my fingernails. I can’t imagine how folk with longer nails can do it.
Thing #2: Chasing what you want comes with an inherent risk of failure – well, maybe not “Capital-F” Failure, that only happens if you give up – but there’s a learning process that’s both necessary and wonderful that comes with mis-steps on the path.
Thing #3: Random daily delight: A good drumline in a song.
Thing #4: What’s playing on the Mental Jukebox today: Primal Scream by Motley Crue
Thing #5: Remember: It doesn’t have to be perfect. You just have to be consistent with your attempts at it.

What am I reading this week?
The Red Scholar’s Wake by Aliette de Bodard
Becoming by Michelle Obama
The Emperor’s Edge by Lindsay Buroker
How have I been relaxing and refilling the well?
As I said last time, I’m making some changes in the attempt to get the best possible rest I can. Perhaps prompting this week’s Thing #5 entry, it hasn’t been as consistent as I’d originally planned. There’s reasons for that, which I won’t get into, but a planned divergence is perfectly fine. I’m still averaging over 7 hours of sleep a night, so I’ll call that a win.
