Five-Thing Thursday: April 3rd

Welcome to another installment of Five-Thing Thursday!

Here are Five Things that I want you to know:

Thing #1: I’ve lost power twice this week due to storms. I’m composing this wondering if I’ll see a third as the rain comes down.

Thing #2: It’s kind of funny when health trackers disagree.

Thing #3: Three words: Freeze-Dried Skittles.

Thing #4: What is playing on the Mental Jukebox this week: Rowdy and reckless by Small Town Titans

Thing #5: Bad Company’s 2nd album: Straight Shooter was released 50 years ago in March. That’s kind of wild.

What have I been reading in 2025?

Exit Strategy by Martha Wells

The Big Bad 2 Edited by John Hartness and Emily Lavin-Leverett

The Creative Ambush by Matteo Di Pascale

The Art and Business of Acting for Video Games by Julia Bianco Schoeffling

Voice Over, Voice Actor by Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt

What was new to me this week?

“Kyrie Eleison” is Greek for “Lord have Mercy.” Which makes sense in the context of the rest of the song, Kyrie by Mister Mister, and recently covered by Seven Kingdoms.

Despite learning that this week, I will continue to use the lyrics “Carry a Laser” with either song because a) that’s me all over and b) it also makes sense in relation to the lyrics.
